McGruff's 25th Anniversary

McGruff the Crime Dog is marking his 25th anniversary with three new radio spots featuring easy tips for neighborhood safety. Joy Behar, currently a co-host of ABC's The View, interviews McGruff in the ads. McGruff and Behar suggest ways to "Take a Bite out of Crime" at home and in the neighborhood.

In one spot McGruff suggests inviting a neighbor for bundt cake and talk about neighborhood issues. In the other two spots, McGruff talks taking garden shears to shrubs and other overgrown areas where would-be criminals could hide, and how neighborly chat can reduce crime in the neighborhood.

The PSAs were created pro bono by volunteer ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi, which in 2003 was named Agency of the Year by Ad Week and Ad Age and is responsible for creating McGruff.
